Feeling incredibly grateful as we wrap up an amazing week at Society of Toxicology (SOT) (SOT 2026).

Members of the Chou Lab at UCR (University of California, Riverside) were excited to present their latest research findings at the SOT Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, where they received valuable feedback and recognition. Awot George, Alexa Canchola, Xiaowen Wang, Keyuan Li, Harshitha Nandula

This meeting was especially meaningful, seeing the hard work of our lab members recognized:
🏆 Awot George Ukbamichael – Biological Modeling Specialty Section (SOT BMSS) Best Trainee Abstract Award & TAO Student Travel Award
🏆 Xiaowen Wang – BMSS Honorable Mention & Drug Discovery Toxicology Specialty Section-Society of Toxicology (DDTSS-SOT) Student Abstract Award (3rd Place)
🏆 Alexa Canchola – BMSS Honorable Mention
🎤 Harshitha Nandula – Platform presentation in “Inside Out: Micro- and Nanoplastics Across Tissues and Fluids.”

Dr. Wei-Chun Chou also had the pleasure of contributing to the meeting through a SOT continuing education (CE) course on AI/ML applications in toxicology and environmental health. "AM03: Applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Approaches to Advance Toxicology and Environmental Health Sciences"

Grateful for the support from University of California, Riverside and the UCR Environmental Toxicology (ETOX) program, and proud to be part of such a collaborative and impactful community.
